Mariposa - Women & Family Center
CalWORKs Behavioral Health Program

Mariposa's CalWORKs Behavioral Health Program offers outpatient therapeutic counseling services to extremely low income adults with children who are experiencing barriers to obtaining and maintain employment. As part of the California Work and Responsibility to Kids Act, CalWORKs Behavioral Health services assists adults recovering from childhood abuse, domestic abuse, substance use and abuse, complicated trauma, co-occurring disorders, depression, anxiety, learning disabilities, low self-esteem, poor parenting skills, anger difficulties and other psychosocial impairments. Our clients face the added stress and alienation of limited access to healthcare, transportation, housing, adequate childcare and education on a daily basis. They are remarkable survivors!

At Mariposa, our CalWORKs clients receive confidential and clinically excellent care from licensed therapists and registered behavioral health interns in a warm, safe and supportive setting. Counseling is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Farsi. Treatment includes individual and family counseling, case management and access to Mariposa's many fine therapy groups including domestic violence support, sexual assault recovery, parenting classes, life skills and occupational therapy, depression support group, anger management, grief/loss, art therapy and support for parents with a child or partner on the autism spectrum.
