1. Mental Health Counseling

2. Substance Abuse Treatment
Like mental health difficulties, recovering from a substance abuse disorder often requires asking for help as a catalyst for healing.
The Mariposa team is deeply committed to treating southern Orange County’s substance abuse epidemic. These challenges include opioid abuse as well as alcoholism and other forms of addiction.
Mariposa uses a three-part system for substance abuse treatment. The system includes education about the adverse effects of addiction, relapse prevention through support groups, and individual counseling. Mariposa Center also offers outpatient, gender-specific group substance abuse programs to aid in recovery.
3. Equine Therapy
Many individuals recovering from trauma or addiction find that they are ill-equipped to handle the heightened emotions and sensations that they experience as a part of the healing process.
Mariposa is proud to be an Orange County counseling center that offers equine therapy with a licensed therapist. This form of therapy has a transformational impact on people working to reconnect with their natural emotional responses. Horses are incredibly empathetic, and interacting with them gives recovering individuals the chance to see their emotions “mirrored” in the animal’s response to them.
